Who We Are

Projects

On a daily basis, CLTC maintains several open green spaces, either CLTC owned or others that we manage under the City Garden Agreement. These properties stood vacant for years until CLTC was able to purchase and/or gain the legal rights to maintain them, otherwise these lots would still be trash filled and an eye sore on the community

The Community Land Trust Corporation (CLTC) is a Pennsylvania non-profit, a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt entity, certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Land Bank, established in 1984 as a multi-purpose organization to address community demands for planning, design management and maintenance of both the pubic outdoor environment and housing development throughout Philadelphia.

Since the mid 1980's, Community Land Trust Corporation has gained an enviable reputation for providing informed leadership on important environmental and housing issues that affect urban redevelopment and the concerns of Community residents. ‚Äč

History

Community Land Trust Corporation was founded by Ms. Vivian VanStory in the mid 1980s. Ms. VanStory grew up in North Philadelphia and as a recently married new homeowner, she bought a house in her old neighborhood - in one of the first and only solar self-contained blocks of houses developed in Philadelphia.
